Roger Jao

Board of Directors

Roger has been a dedicated volunteer, organizer, and fundraiser around the issue of homelessness and poverty since 2014, when he first started by handing our sandwiches and water on Skid Row with Monday Night Mission, a network through which he eventually met Paul Avila. In response to the growing needs of the unhoused and working poor residents of LA, Roger has evolved into a resource allocator and volunteer recruiter across the entire Los Angeles region. In addition to Pauly’s Project, the non-profit organizations that he regularly works with include the Urban Partners LA food bank & LA Baby Cooperative (Westlake), St. James Episcopal Church (Koreatown), Community Solidarity Projects (Miracle Mile), the Union Rescue Mission (Skid Row), Grass Roots Neighbors (Playa Del Rey / Venice), and the Shower of Hope (city wide).

As a 9-to-5, Roger currently works at the non-profit Grand Performances, where his focus is on community building through live music events in Downtown LA and donor relationship management.
